When the World Woke Up With Me

When my friends and I had an “in home” camping trip, we slept in my friend’s backyard. We were on her elevated deck. We did typical camping stuff that the previous night of course, but falling asleep outside and being woken up by the view we had was magnificent.

We were under the stars, hearing the chirping of crickets, and insects. Although we weren’t fully in the wilderness, we doubtlessly were surrounded by nature and that’s what we wanted!

It kind of felt like when SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward went camping. We treated it as such, not going inside for everyday things. We just wanted to be in each others presence. We played a ton of games, roasted marshmallows to have s’mores, and chatted the night away until we all fell asleep.

I keep telling my friends we need to do it again, and how we all mostly have either spouses now or are dating, that it will be even more fun to include them as well! That way our circle gets bigger, and so does our already big friendships evolve with the times as well. I love all of them, as they were the ones who took me in when I first got to Hampton University. The fact we remain friends until this day shows everyone’s commitment to our friendship is. That’s what it’s all about. Looking forward to more good to great times with them again one day!
